Nell & Mary was founded in the summer of 2011 by Krista Stovel, Leah Stovel and Avery Bloom.  With collective backgrounds rooted in interior design, fashion, art, sustainability and manufacturing, we were confident we could create a collection with a refined, unique aesthetic, while remaining environmentally and socially conscious. 

Every piece in the line is cut, sewn and screenprinted in our studio/micro-factory in Portland, Oregon.  All printed artwork is original to our studio.  We source materials which are either “rescued” (deadstock) or organic, and screenprint with water based inks.

We are consistently influenced by imagery from Scandinavia, Japan, and the Pacific Northwest.  Our line began with pillow covers, and has quickly expanded to include tea towels, aprons, napkins, placemats and more on the way.

*Krista Nell and Leah Mary are sisters.  Nell & Mary was named after their grandmothers.
